Job Responsibilities:

A Bingo Cashier sells paper, electronic units and other bingo merchandise to guests. They operate bingo equipment, balance cash transactions and ensure guests have an exceptional bingo experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Maintain sales in an organized manner, promote and up-sale games ensuring efficient and accurate service while providing guests with instructions, play assistance, payouts, costs and/or other information.
  • Count/sign receipts for all papers and banks from paper issue or paymaster accurately and on time.
  • Be a  team player (e.g., work toward team goals and foster a collaborative and positive work environment; put the team first; assist coworkers; treat all coworkers with kindness, courtesy and respect; never engage in negativity; maintain openness to coaching, learning and improving; receptive to change and willingness to embrace challenges with team-spirit).
  • Operate a point of sale system/cash register (e.g., maintain change in cash drawer; accept cash for payment; calculate discounts; ensure proper identification for certain transactions; count money; return correct change; issue receipts; balance cash drawer and receipts; prepare, review and verify cashier sale forms).
  • Build relationships and loyalty with guests through sincere and meaningful interactions (e.g., learn guests’ names and preferences; connect with them individually and professionally; smile; make eye contact and verbally greet guests from arrival to the property through departure; and provide fast and friendly service to guests).
  • Sell bingo papers, daubers, electronic machines and other bingo department merchandise; keep register area neat, clean and stocked with necessary supplies; and documents discrepancies.
  • Report equipment failure/problems to designated supervisory staff.
  • Promote and practice safe workplace practices, as outlined in safety and procedure training.
  • Strictly adhere to Bingo Department Policy and Procedures and the Pueblo of Laguna Gaming Control Board/Tribal Gaming Regulatory Authority rules and regulations.
  • Assist in the setup/take-down before and after Bingo sessions by cleaning table tops and counters, picking up debris.
  • Assists with verifying winning Bingo cards with the Caller and Supervisor in amounts in excess of $1200.
  • Work very quickly, moving people through lines in the bingo hall.
  • At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients and vendors).
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of services, room locations, amenities, surroundings (i.e. gift shop, restaurants, theater, etc.), providing accurate directions and information for guest inquiries about promotions and special events.
  • Speak clearly.
  • Work under pressure; maintain regular and punctual attendance including working odd and unusual hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Relevant work experience or cashiering experience preferred.

Licensing & Certification:

  • None.

Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery: 

  •               Proficient with basic office equipment (copy machine, computer, phone).
  •              Proficient in basic computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  •              Use of microphone.
  •              Use of OMNI software for point of sale/cash register.

Essential Physical Requirements 

  • Requires the ability to balance/climb, bend over, crouch/stoop, hear, kneel, reach overhead, sit, stand, talk, turn/twist and repetitively  use hands  51-100% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to push/pull, carry and lift 1-25 lbs. 51-100% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to lift 25-50 lbs. 25-50% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to carry and slide/transfer 25-50 lbs. 1-24% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to carry, lift and slide/transfer50+ lbs. 1-24% of the time.

Essential Mental Demands: 

  •         Requires the ability to solve problems, organize, plan, make decision, interpret data, read and write 51-100% of the time. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • None.

Work Environment (inside/outside): 

  •         The job is performed indoors with exposure to smoke.

Other Requirements: 

  • Obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Pueblo of Laguna’s Gaming Control Board.
  • Comply with LDC and the Federal Government Bank Secrecy Act by acquiring and/or maintaining a Title 31 Certification.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and cashiers test.
